artist bio

Jef Logan, first generation American Filipino, is a self taught artist. He has been doodling and drawing figures since childhood. He later took a few courses in college but after he was taught fundamental concepts and refinements he left with the confidence to pursue his further development on his own.

Jef's style incorporates movements of flow, strong textures, bold colors, and stylized figures with a subjective symbolic narrative left for the observer’s interpretation.

Describe your process.

Sometimes there’s no thought in the freestyle process. Just pure seamless source flow.

And sometimes there’s lots of thought in trying to convey a narrative in a surreal compelling way.

But i always enjoy stepping back at the end of each work to unlock hidden pathways into the subconscious.

What inspires you?

I like to leave hints of spirituality. My deep interest into our inner and outer realms guided me to have wide eyes for the diverse beauty that's found in nature as well as the nature within ourselves.

I like to observe and interpret the shadow aspects of our human layers, which help me accept and have awareness of my own.

What is art to you?

Expression through art is what I use as an aesthetic timeline of my own evolution.
